It's always hard to leave a place you love when the weather turns out to be perfect. But, leave we did. We rolled past Innsbruck and into Tirol and are now in a tiny village called Pettneu staying at Arlberg-panoramacamping, €13--beautiful setting, dull campground. But, nothing can compare to our last spot and this is just an overnight on our journey.
We took a stroll into town and found it to be either asleep or dead although we did find a few people doing maintenance on their homes or mowing the wildflowers. Mostly, we found sheep and cows.
Hello, who are you?
Notice the white one still peering through the fence. Hello? Hello?
This house just seemed classic to me.
This one, on the other hand, is very new. They were busy sprucing it up.
Driving in, we saw about 25 huts spread out in a field. Many had these poles attached to the side wall. I wonder what they're for?
I had just been wondering when we would meet a campground cat again--they have not been appearing lately--when I happened upon nature taking its course with this cat and mouse game.
We have spent the rest of the day lounging and reading. We're off tomorrow for Switzerland.
People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life. ~ Faith Resnick
I am dying here with your photos--the sheep peeking through the fence--hilarious!! And the cat and mouse photos--I know I should be horrified, but they are even more hilarious. This was one of the best posts yet (could have something to do with my dark sense of humor). Love the quote . . . carry on!
ReplyDeleteReally, as much as I love the "natural" beauty here in central Italy, as opposed to the engineered beauty in northern Europe, I feel so much better seeing sparkling clean farm animals, (and pets!) Those spring downpours must keep the goat herd pristine... they just milk them, right? Not eat them ... Elle in Umbria
ReplyDeleteThese animal pics are too fun!!! The quote captures the essence ~ thanks ~ too cute - work, play and life goes on in the jungle.

There is SOMETHING about orange/white cats...my last one—Nathan—was a beast to be feared!

I agree with Diane, the cat and mouse is a winner! I also wonder what in the heck those pieces of wood are along the wall of the house....I hope you find out before you leave....
ReplyDeleteAnd...I love the "classic" house. I could imagine myself living there. Hope it includes the cat!
